The Tip Hotline
Voicemail only, transcribed weekly. Leave your name, the URL, and a one-sentence pitch. Long rants welcome.
Found a cursed screenshot from 2008? Want to submit a tip, sign the guestbook, or just yell into the void? You're in the right place. Sarcastic MySpace is reader-supported, screenshot-obsessed, and weirdly into Winamp skins.
We accept everything from polished news tips to blurry cameraphone shots of your cousin's LiveJournal. Anonymity is fine. PR pitches go in the bin. If it made you laugh, gasp, or feel weird in 2006, we want to see it.
We have deliberately avoided putting Sarcastic MySpace on most social platforms. That's part of the bit. But there are still a handful of stable, boring, reliable ways to get in touch — listed below, no fax required.

Sarcastic MySpace operates out of a small studio above a vintage record shop in Greenpoint. The studio isn't really open to the public — but we host one open-house event per quarter for newsletter subscribers. The map below is a stylized illustration, not a real navigational aid.
We're a five-minute walk from the Greenpoint Ave G stop, sandwiched between a bookstore, a bagel place, and a small shrine to the original Mac OS. Visits are by appointment only — please use the form above to schedule.
We've been getting these for years. To save us all time, here are the answers — preserved exactly as we first wrote them, typos and all.
Yes, please. We especially love profiles from 2003–2009, deeply customized layouts, glitter GIFs, and songs that auto-play. Bonus points if Tom is your top friend in a way that feels hostile.
Almost never. We are a tiny reader-funded site. If your submission turns into a feature, we'll credit you, link your work, and send you a free issue of the zine. That's the deal.
Possibly. Email us three sample pitches, links to any past writing, and a one-line bio. We commission a handful of essays per year, mostly on the history of specific platforms, aesthetics, and communities.
If you appear in archival material and want a specific image removed, email us with the URL and a short explanation. We're a small team, so please allow 7–10 days. We err on the side of respecting the subject.
No. We are an independent editorial project. The name is a loving reference, not a partnership. The Tom head on the homepage is, sadly, not affiliated with us either.
No. We do not do sponsored content. If you run a project we genuinely love, we'll sometimes mention it for free. If you'd like to support the project in a non-creepy way, our print zine and merch exist.
A real, working guestbook. We moderate lightly for spam, never edit your text, and display every entry publicly with the name you provide. The HTML font tags have been removed, but the spirit remains.
I haven't thought about Xanga in fourteen years and now I can't stop. Found my old blog through your archive link and I have so many feelings. Thank you for keeping this stuff alive.
Sent in a tip about an old Flash game archive I found last week. Got a personal reply within 48 hours. The fact that you actually read these is wild and beautiful. 10/10 would submit again.
Bought issue #4 of the zine. The risograph print smells incredible. The essay on Neopets economies is something I've been thinking about for weeks. More of this please.
The archive is free, indexed, and slightly haunted. Wander through 600+ posts covering every era of the strange, sincere, deeply weird internet.
